Get ready for a Hyundai micro SUV in India
Hyundai might launch a micro SUV in India to compete against Maruti Suzuki Espresso and soon going to be launched Tata HBX. The micro SUV has been spied testing in South Korea and now the company has released a teaser image showing a glimpse of headlamps and tail lamps.
Though SUV segment has been on a run in India, there is
indeed a big scope for the micro SUVs, thanks to their high ground clearance
and muscular looks. Maruti Suzuki Espresso though scoring low in the crash
ratings has been selling in good numbers and no wonder Mr Bhargava, MD of
Maruti Suzuki says “whatever we produce, we sell”. The comment has termed
ridiculous over the internet, but he is saying that because his cars are indeed
selling in good numbers.
Thanks to Tata and Hyundai who are planning to launch a
competing vehicles for any Maruti model. Its just the time, Maruti has to think
serious about “safety” in its cars.
Coming back to the Hyundai micro SUV which is codenamed “Hyundai
AX1” features a split headlamp with circular headlamp housing on the bumper (as
the norm nowadays) and turn indicators above them just like the Venue. The
micro SUV is supposed to be built on the Grand i10 platform and the dynamics
could be just carried over from it.
Hope to see the car on the Indian soil soon after its
International debut. View the teaser image below.
